How to Make Your Computer Run Faster

Computers are complex machines… but they are only like motor cars. They have an engine (the bits and pieces inside it), and can be steered along with the keyboard and mouse. Just like a motor car, computers are designed to run at a certain speed… but that speed can get slower and slower, and here’s how to fix it.

There’s a big MYTH floating around the computing world, that in order to speed your computer up, you need to upgrade it. This is utter baloney, because of one simple reason. Computers have “engines” (hardware) inside them that are designed to run at a certain speed. This speed is determined by how powerful your computer’s engine is. The myth is that in order to stop your PC running slow, you need to get a new engine fitted in it.

If we step back to our motor car example… if your car starts to run slow, would you change the engine? No – you would try and find the cause of the slowness, and then fix that. It’s the same with new models of car / computer coming out as well. Just because a new Ferrari has rolled off the production line at Maranelo, doesn’t mean to say that your car is going to start running slower…. just because a new computer has come out, doesn’t mean to say that your computer will start to run slow.

It’s a common misconception that the only way to make your computer faster is to just upgrade it. Instead, the real reason why it’s running slow is because of a problem deep within your system. It’s all to do with something called the ‘registry’, which is where your computer stores all its system files and settings. There are 1,000’s of files inside this database, which are constantly being accessed. The problem is that when these files are being used, they often become corrupt or damaged. This means that when Windows wants to use them again, it just takes longer to find them… which makes it run slower. Over time, more and more files will become corrupted, forcing your PC into a downward spiral of slowness.

In order to fix this, you just need to do one thing. And that’s to make your registry files fixed again. And luckily for us, there’s a tool which can do this for us. It’s called a ‘registry cleaner’ and can dramatically boost the speed of your PC. Basically, registry cleaners go through the registry database and pick out all the bad files that are in there. They then clean these files, which speeds up your computer. You’ll actually be surprised at how much faster they make your computer run.
